Abstract

God, and the best blessings and most pure peace be upon the master of humanity, our master Muhammad, the pride of the worlds and the lamp of darkness, and upon his pure and honorable family, and his honorable and eminent companions. After the dispute arose between the Basrans and the Kufans on many issues of Arabic, based on the principles that each group adhered to and did not deviate from when the language was restricted, and from It is known that the Basrans were precise in choosing the evidence on which they based the language, so they took most of it and established the rule in light of it, and what violated the rule they attributed to hearing, and there is no comparison with it, unlike the Kufans who lost it in the light of one witness. But the Basrans sometimes exaggerated their adherence to the rule, to the point that this led them to a lot of interpretation, and to reject many readings. Therefore, we find many readings to which their rules do not apply. Among the things that the Basraists exaggerated was the past tense that occurred in the situation of the situation, as they obligated the evaluation of (had) with it on the pretext that the past occurred and ended, so it is not suitable for the situation. Then they were confused in defining its meaning, as some of them made it to bring the past closer to the situation, and some of them made it to anticipate, and some of them made expectation and approximation inseparable in it, and they ignored its main meaning, which is investigation, which this research tried to prove with the past in reality based on the situation based on the Holy Qur’an. At the same time, the Kufans allowed the past to happen immediately. This research attempted to mediate between the two groups, and to rely on the Holy Qur’an to determine the extent of its conformity with the rules of the two groups, relying in this on the opinions of grammarians sometimes, and on what appears to me as to the meaning of the verse at other times, and I reached results that I explained at its conclusion. After that, I do not want this. The research is merely contradicting the Arabic scholars or trying to belittle them, for I seek refuge in God from that, for they have more credit than we can reach a shred of, and what I aimed at was an attempt to reach the truth of the meaning of the past tense verb in the situation, and I am not certain that the results I have reached are... The truth, but it is what God has shown and favored, even if you have strayed from the truth
